City Council Intern - Administrative duties ;Youth Climate Ambassador - Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating with the MORS team; Participating in training and programing provided by MORS to gain hands on experience and technical knowledge for sustainable, environmental and climate action related communication projects; Attending Climate Action Plan Implementation Working Groups to remain up to date on recent developments - in particular the Equity & Youth Engagement Working Group; Building relationships with Houstonians, other state/local governments, universities, community non-profits, and local businesses that lead on resilience, sustainability, climate action, and climate justice; Planning and leading community outreach efforts, including all logistics of in-person or virtual events and presentations; Utilizing GreenHouston communication channels to raise awareness of MORS and of the implementation of Resilient Houston and Climate Action Plan; Supporting the engagement strategies and projects that promote the City's Resilient Houston Strategy and Climate Action Plan; Assisting the MORS with tracking, documenting, and reporting demographic data related to awareness of the Climate Action Plan and Resilient Houston Strategy, as well as community needs related to climate action and resilience; Assisting in gathering data for office reporting; Assisting in developing brand messaging, communication pieces and social media as needed; Assisting with daily duties as needed or requested; Support evening and/or weekend community outreach efforts as needed.

Health, Environmental Science, Community Outreach, Bi-lingual GENERAL INFORMATIONThanks for your interest in the City of Houston's Youth Summer Jobs Program, which will run from June 10 - August 1, 2024.
Interns will work 32 hours per week and earn $10 per hour.
This program provides an excellent opportunity for you to earn and learn by becoming a member of the team that takes care of the residents of the nation's 4th largest city.
Note - Successful candidates will be required to pass a background check.

WORKING CONDITIONSThe position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
