MedHires - SNF Management Company seeking to hire a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist for a traveling position, to select, set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment that is utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESExplains purpose and procedure of treatment, tests, and equipment to the resident.
Develop relationships with Company respiratory vendors, review purchases and make appropriate recommendations.
Conducts physician prescribed treatments of a routine nature,Operating volume ventilator, intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) machine, various nasal oxygen devices and aerosol nebulizers in order to administer prescribed medicinal vapors and gases, humidity and various oxygen concentrations with or without continuous mechanical ventilation to the respiratory system of the resident.
Performs chest physiotherapy (CPT) treatments involving percussion, postural drainage and suctioning in order to loosen and mobilize secretions and mucus in the lungs and to clear airway blockage in the respiratory system.
Perform arterial puncture.
Set up, operate and monitor Cpap, BiPap, and related items when residents respiratory system is incapable of adequate spontaneous ventilation.
In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer and VP of Clinical Services, develop programs to ensure the adequate maintenance of ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Records all pertinent information of treatments and resident response to treatments on respiratory care records and residents charts.
Reports treatments to be conducted and condition of residents to relative personnel.
Processes respiratory therapy equipment, cleaning, sterilizing and packaging, as required, and train new Respiratory Therapists in techniques.
Performs preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
Provides and coordinates with vendors to provide training and in-services for corporate and facility personnel.
Develop a routine process make regular rounds checking residents ventilator, PAP, oxygen equipment, as well as spot checking other respiratory therapy equipment, on a timely basis.
Performs and trains facility staff in airway management, which includes trach care, trach tube changes, speaking valve monitoring.
When not detracting from primary respiratory care services, will assess patients as requested, coordinate care with the Attending Physician and Director of Nursing.
OTHER DUTIES:

Qualifications:
Graduate of approved AMA School of Respiratory Therapy.
Current state license, Credentialed by NBRC.
Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and government regulators, and to work cooperatively with other clinicians at all levels.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
