30PM Weekends as needed Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES The Houston Health Department is actively searching for several talented Clinic Assistants to perform the following functions:
1.
Obtains and records height, weight, pulse, and blood pressure of patients2.
Collects and labels urine and blood samples.
Performs simple tests or sendsspecimens to laboratory for analysis.
Maintains records of all transactions.
3.
Prepares examination rooms for patient treatment and packages tools to sterilize equipment4.
Verifies patient medical history and maintains records on patient's diseases,operations, immunizations, and other pertinent information5.
Assists in various capacities:
inventorying and ordering medical supplies, assists nurses and medical providers as directed, assists with follow-up of patients6.
Upon obtaining certification, administers medications to patients under the direct supervision or authorization of a physician or nurse practitioner7.
Perform front-end (registration) duties that include, but are not limited to, scheduling appointments, verifying demographic information, and conducting reminder calls.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or record boxes (up to 50 pounds) and/or very long periods of standing and walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
