Sample Management Specialist - Deer Park, TX

Responsible for the daily operations of the Sample Management Department.

Coordinating with the clients (internal and external), on jobs, details on samples and shipments, and notifications

Prepare and submit transport documentation with foreign customs agencies

Shipping domestic and international by ground and air for all clients

Resolve discrepancies with paperwork, prior to proceeding with task

Utilize multiple company systems to ensure proper job tracking from beginning to end

Landing samples off vessels for inventory, retain, and disposal

Picking up materials/supplies

Submitting new client paperwork, client fact sheets

Consulting/packaging/inspecting at client sites for shipments

Handling, heating, mixing, monitoring, blending, cutting, and transferring of products

Daily departmental vehicle inspections/maintenance

Pickup and drop off samples at various locations

Fork lift operations and maintenance

Other duties as assigned

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Must be able to work with a multitude of assorted products

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal

Must be able to read and comprehend labels and instructions

Must have clean driving record and valid driver license

Must be able to work shift work

Must be able to calculate basic math

Must have 2 years DOT/IATA shipping experience with dangerous goods

Must have general computer skills and knowledge

Must be observant and have attention to detail skills

Must be able to lift and carry up to 90 lbs., climb, bend, and reach without restrictions

Must be safety conscience

Must be dependable and flexible, and have a team oriented attitude

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
